PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Artist development (one year)
Description
This one year Professional Program is for students ages 18 and up with a passion for circus arts who have completed year 1 of the Pre-Professional Program (or have been accepted through an audition process) and wish to commit a year to develop two or more unique circus acts and pursue a career in circus arts. In addition to the rigorous physical training and solid physical preparation, we will focus on technical and artistic development, including theatre/circus stage makeup and music, theme act development. Student performances/exam are presented before a panel of judges three times during the year and at the completion of the program.
Candidate
The ideal candidate wishes to pursue a career in circus artist. In order to achieve this goal, students must commit to an intensive training program. The candidate demonstrates basic knowledge in the circus arts, dance, a martial art or acrobatic sport with an artistic component, such as artistic or rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, diving, figure skating, etc. The candidate is in excellent health and demonstrates determination, creativity, discipline and maturity.
Curriculum
Includes but is not limited to: trapeze, silks, cerceau (lyra), cloud swing, rope, spanish web, contortion, juggling, trampoline, stretching, Chinese pole, conditioning, dance, theatre, adagio, balancing, acting, net, hammock, hula hoop, tumbling.
Program duration
This 40-week program span over one year with 20 hours of training per week. You can register for this program for the September to August session or for the January to December session and applications will be accepted anytime. Students registered are required to commit to the full length of the program from their start date.

• Fall Session: September to December (14 weeks)
• Winter Session: January to June (20 weeks)
• Summer Session: July and first 2 weeks of August (8 weeks at 12hrs per week)
• Boot Camp: last week of August (40 hours total)
• Final Evaluation/Show: 8+ hour day at the end of August (TBC)
Dress code
Students should wear suitable close-fitting gym clothes. Ballet slippers or jazz shoes are recommended but not essential. Jeans, shoes and jewelry are not permitted.
Tuition
Tuition for the Preparatory Program is $5040/year (850+ hours)
A $250 deposit is due at the last step of the registration process, once accepted in the program.

Volunteer Work
Learning the arts of circus is more than being able to "do the moves", it requires physical and psychological understanding of the techniques. This is the reason why we require, in addition to the training, a minimum of 40 hours of volunteering as an assistant-instructor for birthday parties, camps and or classes over the course of the program.
Certificate
At the completion of the program, with a final score of 60% or higher, the student is awarded the Professional Artist Program certificate. The students with a score below 60 will receive the school certificate.
