Circus Camp II May 20-27, 2004 By Jane of Arts on Arts News The Coast Local circus arts school Atlantic Cirque is holding its second annual summer day camp for children from 7-17, and if last year is any indication the spots are going to fill up quick. Three week-long camps were filled last year and president Anais Guimond says they’re already considering adding a fourth week to the 2004 summer schedule. “We have 15 placements per camp and we’re already half full,” says Guimond from the school. “We haven’t even begun promoting yet.” The five-day, 40-hour camp introduces the students to basic circus skills, including trampoline performance, unicycle riding, stilt walking, tumbling and aerial apparatuses. “Many of the people registered for the camp last year registered for regular sessions in the fall,” says Guimond. “It was full.” For more information on the Atlantic Cirque summer camps, swing over to atlanticcirque.com
